My name is Chris Gaither and I am honored to shepherd the people of Ooltewah Baptist Church and serve the people in the community of Ooltewah.

You might be looking at this site today for a number of reasons.  Maybe you are going through tough times and looking for a little guidance.  Maybe you are prayerfully seeking a church home for your family.  Maybe you are simply one of our church members checking in to see what is going on lately and how you can serve alongside your church family.  Whatever the reason...I'm glad you are here.  We pray that this website will be a helpful tool for all who visit it.

If you have questions about our church, we pray that you will find the answers you are looking for.  Our motto and mission can be found below, but there is so much more throughout this site that will tell you about Jesus and His presence within this body of believers.

Guests, please allow me to invite you to visit our campus; I would love the chance  to meet you in person!

Thanks for checking out our site.  We will see you soon.

Our motto:

"NOT I, but christ"

We seek to flesh out the mottoNOT I, BUT CHRIST,” because we understand that before we were saved, we tried to do things our own way and it led us to dead end after dead end and futility upon futility.  Like the apostle Paul, we seek to be led by Christ as He lives through us. In Galatians 2:20, he wrote, “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.”

The church’s mission came directly from the Lord Jesus Christ and that is “to make disciples.”  A maturing disciple of Jesus Christ is one who “Embraces the Gospel,” “Ingests His Word” (both corporately and individually) and “Engages Their Platform.”

A member at Ooltewah Baptist Church is someone who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and who has followed through with believer’s baptism by immersion; who is committed to our beliefs, purpose, and values; and who is actively involved in four essentials: worship, community, growth, and service.
